Think of this as a workshop on macro photography.  The idea is to get as close to the subject as possible.  A macro lens is designed for this.  There are also closeup filters you can screw onto your lens.  Check your lenses to see if any will focus close.  I have one Nikon mount lens with a macro setting someone can try.  Don't go buy something special, there is time after you try it out.

With macro shooting a tripod is probably a good idea.  Also a flash may be helpful.  Off camera is best so the lens will not be in the way.

The lens is up to you, whatever you get a close focus with.  I suggest you bring your manual so you can find out how to set things up on your camera.  If you bring a wide, normal and telephoto lens you can see some of the differences in the effect on the subject.  There will be things to shoot, but you can also bring something you want to shoot.

We are meeting in the church at 7:00 and most likely in the cafe at the north end of the church.  The end away from Lake Woodlands Drive.
