Photographing at the RODEO!
For the month of March, freelance photographer Dave Clements roams the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He appears, cameras in hand, at almost all scheduled events, including the first two songs of every concert, bucking broncs and steer wrestling. This is the second career, more or less, for the silver-haired Clements. Before he started at the rodeo almost 10 years ago, he served as a human resources manager at ExxonMobil.
"I'm a happy guy when I have a camera in my hand, and the rodeo makes me happy. I'll take about 50,000 photos in the month that I'm here. As stupid as this may sound, the main reason I'm doing this is to create memories."

dances come along twice this year
And you really do want to sign up!
The first (the Adult Spring Fling Dance) will be Saturday, March 30; 5:00 to 8:30 PM. They need 3 photographers for this dance: two to take candid shots; one to work with another photographer for portraits. this will take place at the Loft (the large warehouse-type building at the northeast corner of the church property), and all lights will be on to aid the candid shots.
This event is a blast to photograph!
They don't need expert photographers or expensive cameras;
just your enthusiasm!
Using our website, you can view the calendar, change your email address, check out workshops, etc., and (if you are a paid member) request to be added to our Facebook page. It's all on our website!
What is the Mentor Program?
Each month many TWCC members share their knowledge and time both informally and formally as “mentors” to other club members. It may be by e-mail, phone, or even in person at different locations around The Woodlands. Learning from a friend or neighbor is one of the best experiences in a club like ours. To see who’s available to help you grow your photo skills visit http://www.thewoodlandscameraclub.org/resources.htmland click the link for mentors and their specialities.
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Our Purpose is to bring together people interested in exploring the wonder of God’s creation through the lens of a camera. Members of all ages encourage one another and share their efforts to record nature, travels, people and memories. Anyone is welcome to join this club. We are here to teach one another through enjoyable activities and meetings, to make new friendships through a common interest, to support The Woodlands United Methodist Church through our photography, and to glorify God through it all.
Meeting Information: The first Monday of each month (except holidays), Aldersgate Hall at the southeast end of The Woodlands United Methodist Church, located at the corner of Grogan’s Mill and Lake Woodlands Drive. We start gathering around 6:45; the meeting starts promptly at 7:10.
We're looking forward to seeing you on
Monday, January 7th!
