Greetings from ReDSS Somalia Country Unit.  
 
This update covers the period between May and June 2021. It includes updates of the recently launched Displacement Financing Study, durable solutions induction and mainstreaming training sessions and the durable solutions stock-taking event. Additional resources from GP2.0, UNHCR and IOM are also included.

Aspirations Survey Phase II
Preliminary findings of the Aspirations survey Phase II are currently under review by ReDSS and partners will be invited to discuss them and the analysis in the coming weeks. The second phase of the aspirations survey seeks to build and compare the findings of the first annual aspirations survey, the World Bank microdata analysis and the baseline results of the Danwadaag Local (re)integration Assessment (LORA).

Participants left the training more informed on durable solutions definition, IASC/ReDSS durable solutions framework and adaptations, and how to address displacement-related vulnerabilities through non-solutions programming. Somalia Training of Trainers (ToT) course on durable solutions
Following the ToTs training for Somali authorities on Durable Solutions, ReDSS, with the support of the NCRI, plans to roll out the training at FGS/FMS level.  A final 2-hour session on how best to plan and conduct DS training for their colleagues in the different institutions is scheduled.

Durable solutions stock-taking event
The durable solutions stock-taking event organised by ReDSS and the Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) was held on 2nd June. It was attended by 55 participants representing the various durable solutions stakeholders in Somalia.  

A key outcome was a consensus to focus on reducing displacement affected vulnerabilities toward achieving durable solutions. An outcome report will be shared with partners in July and a validation meeting held after that.
