2019 JETAA USA National Conference

Who will be joining us in Chicago, IL for the National Conference?
September 26-29, 2019

We are just over two months away from the JETAA USA National Conference hosted by JETAA Chicago!! We invite two delegates from each JETAA chapter to attend. Typically, chapters send the President and Treasurer. However, it is the discretion of the individual chapter as to who will attend. We highly encourage “genki” alumni who have not attended a NatCon and who plan to be in a leadership role in 2020 and beyond!

Deadline to sign up for National Conference is Friday, August 2nd. If you have any questions in regards to registering delegates, please e-mail Monica Yuki at monica.yuki@jetaausa.com

Since the conference starts at 9am on Friday, we encourage delegates to take advantage of a FREE hotel room for Thursday night. You MUST register using the link below by Friday 8/2 to secure your attendance to NatCon and your hotel needs for the conference.

NatCon Schedule:

All mandatory events for delegates start Friday morning at 9am.

Nijikais AFTER receptions are optional.

Thurs 9/26: Welcome Happy Hour starting at 6pm
Frid 9/27: Conference 9am–6pm followed by an evening Reception hosted by MOFA
Sat 9/28: Conference 9am–6pm followed by an evening Reception hosted by CLAIR
Sun 9/29: Conference 9am to 12pm, followed by optional local activities

Helpful tips for booking your NatCon Flight

Arrive: Thursday, September 26th by 4pm (if your work schedule allows for it)
The informal welcome happy hour starts at 6pm and goes till last man standing. We hope you can be there for the Kanpai! If vacation time allows for it, try to land in Chicago by 4pm. If not, still try to fly in Thursday and we will see you Friday morning when the conference starts.

Depart: Sunday, September 29th after 3pm
The conference ends at 12pm but please allow for extra travel time to the airport and checking in. There will be optional local activities and more chapter networking if you can stay longer.

Your hotel room has already been booked. We will assign roommates based on gender. You DO NOT need to contact the hotel since we have a dedicated person handling our large reservation.

FLIGHT TO CHICAGO, IL

Airport: O'Hare International Airport (ORD)
Airport: Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW)

Contact your treasurer to find out the budget for your flight.

The airport is 1 hour via public transportation or 45+ min by car to the hotel. Please plan accordingly.

We'll be sending an e-mail to delegates in late August to collect your flight info so that we're able to coordinate rideshares & travel buddies to the hotel.

TRANSPORTATION TO HOTEL

We will share all delegates' travel information to coordinate ride sharing. Your Chapter GIA travel budget should cover this cost. Please confirm with your treasurer the budget and don’t forget to save your receipts!

Omiyage

We ask all chapters to bring edible Omiyage that represents your local region to be shared with all delegates. Think inexpensive, small, and easy to share treats for 50 people. We will snack on these treats during our meeting break.
