The countdown is on: Only 17 days left until the National Math Festival! Where will you be on April 18?
Get ready to experience math like never before! In just over two weeks, the first-ever National Math Festival will bring a fun, math-filled day featuring more than 70 free events and activities for all ages to Washington, D.C. Here are just a few of the exciting activities you can participate in on April 18:
- Watch as a beautiful Hyperbolic Star, measuring nearly 6 feet in diameter, is built
- Experience the national debut of Math Midway’s Spacellation and help build the giant, geometric coat-hanger construction
- Take a guided tour of a scale model Solar System along the National Mall
- Discover the solution to the fair lane assignment problem in BMX bicycle racing with National Medal of Science recipient Dr. Richard Tapia
- Help a roving troupe of magicians attempt to Escape from D.C. using mathematical trickery, deceit, mind reading, and more
At the National Math Festival, the possibilities are infinite! Visit www.MathFest.org and follow @mathmoves for the complete schedule and the latest news.
