Celebrating Our 5th Birthday!
In This Issue

The Frederick Center Turns 5

Were you one of the 30 that attended our first Youth Group back on April 4th, 2012?  Or one of 35 community members that came out to plan our first Pride event a week later?  We've come so far.  Our weekly youth group remains strong, and our 6th Frederick Pride is just around the corner.  Austin Beach, Brian Walker, and Cindie Beach may have created the initial blueprint of the organization back in January 2012, but it was the community that made the center what it is starting that April.  Now we offer a weekly LGBTQ Youth Group, annual Welcoming Frederick all-day conference, TransFamily Group, Safe Space Healing Group, Trans and Gender Nonbinary Group, the Frederick HIV Coalition, Frederick Pride month, Sensitivity and Awareness Training, Young Adult Group, Ally of the Year Award, and more.  We are fulfilling our mission to support, educate, link, organize, and celebrate diversity.  And it is you that will propel us even further.

Birthday celebrations will occur at Carnival on 3/18 and at the Youth Group in April.

Nominations for Ally of the Year Being Accepted Now

It is one of our most important functions. Take a few minutes right now to do it.  The honor of Ally of the Year is given annually to one or more straight community members who have provided outstanding support and assistance to Central Maryland’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) community. The TFC Board selects the award recipients from nominations. The award is presented at Frederick Pride.  DEADLINE 3/31/2017.  TFC Board members are not eligible to receive this award, any other ally/non-LGBTQ organization is.
