The gal behind the truck


Britton Murdock, a Reno native, collegiate softball star and graduate from the University of Nevada, Reno just rolled up in a bubblegum-pink fashion truck. Her mission: to provide a boutique clothing experience and an alternative outlet for Reno fashionistas. 

"I have always loved retail, as it has been in my family for decades. Some may remember Murdock's clothing store," said Murdock. "It has always been a dream of mine to open a store of my own. With the help of many, I am following my dream."

Murdock earned her bachelors degree in psychology, and masters degree in higher education from the University of Nevada, Reno. After six years working in the UNR athletic department, a coffee date with Mayor Hillary Schieve changed everything.

"I talked with Mayor Schieve about my plans and vision," said Murdock. "She was so helpful and empowering, and at the end of our coffee meeting, she offered to sell me the truck." 

Murdock curates her collection with national labels, including Ellison and Wishlist.

"I knew if I was going to be successful in Reno I had to be different, edgy, and bring something to the table."

Murdock's continued dream is to open a brick and mortar shop with a fleet of trucks around the country. In the meantime, stay tuned for her online store, set to launch this fall.
