Dear friends and colleagues,
We're writing with much excitement about what's been a really blessed, action-packed 2015. With much more ahead in the coming year, we're humbly asking for your support. Please take a moment to check out some of the activity that we've been pouring our minds and bodies into over the course of 2015. If you've been impacted by the vision, ideas, and physicalities that we've been rigorously pursuing and relentlessly putting out into the world, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to BOOMERANG.
Much love and gratitude,
Matty Davis and Kora Radella

BOOMERANG received a commission from Dixon Place to create an evening-length work with Deerhoof drummer Greg Saunier that will premiere in March 2016 with six Friday/Saturday performances (March 11/12, 18/19, and 25/26).

Research for the new, commissioned work began while Matty Davis and Kora Radella were artists-in-residence at Lake Studios in Berlin, Germany. In recent months, we've been further developing the work with Saunier and BOOMERANG co-founder Adrian Galvin. In October, we shared a peek of the new piece in an evening of BOOMERANG works with all live music at Roulette. Musicians included Saunier, pianist Adam Tendler, cellist Meghan Burke, and the band Poor Remy. We performed another, elongated excerpt of the new piece at Danspace Project's November edition of DraftWork, curated by Ishmael Houston-Jones. In January, the work will be completed while we are artists-in-residence at Robert Wilson's Watermill Center.

Amidst creating new work last June in Berlin, BOOMERANG was also performing extensively. "How you shone through me" was performed 4 times in one hour over the course of a festival whose audiences roved among unconventional performance spaces. In February 2015, we shot "How you shone through me" specifically for film with filmmaker Sam Krebs. The film premiered in October at Roulette. We've also been working with Martha Gregory, Kenny Polyak, Noah Fowler on new film work. Recently, videographers Steven Speliotis and Reiko Yanagi have been taking footage of BOOMERANG in both performance and rehearsals for inclusion in their short documentary series, "The Choreographer's Way, Making Dance."
