The 6 organizations of the Impact8 cohort (ÉAU, Doctr, Exeko, Revivre,Nectarand Huddol) are halfway through their program. For about 3 months, they have had the opportunity to work on various topics ranging from the Business Model Canvas and the theory of change to the consumer voice (a method aimed at gathering consumer feedback). All social entrepreneurs will meet on February 1st to validate their progress during a pitch session with their coaches.

As a reminder, Esplanade has partnered with BNP Paribas Canada to offer the 2 selected projects access to a desk at Esplanade on a part-time basis for 6 months. The only condition to be met was to propose a pre-start or start-up project with social impact.
Our team is very sensitive to calendar events. Valentine’s Day approaching, we’ve decided to release the results on February the 14th, isn’t that a beautiful sign of love ?

Our partner, the Caisse d'économie solidaire Desjardins, organizes in collaboration with Votre beau programme and Radio-Canada the contest “Faites du Bien”. Share your philanthropist spirit by describing a project and how it impacts one or several persons’ lives for a chance to win $10,000! Not only the winner will get this prize, he will also receive coaching services to support the development of his project.

The finalists of the Novae Movement contest are entering final stretch! After 2 full days of coaching at Esplanade, during which the 10 social entrepreneurs were taught the best practices to convince bigger companies to support their project or how to optimize their social media presence, they are now ready to give their final pitch. This public event will take place on February 13th at Capitol, come support Doctr, Bois Public, ÉAU, Simplykand all other finalists!
January has been an emotional one. Indeed, the Ulule team has finally received the keys of their new space and the team has moved out of Esplanade. We were very sad to see them leave… but we wish them all the best in their new adventures!

Esplanade is now the official place for Miel Montreal trainings and workshops in Montreal. These trainings are designed to cover the practical aspects of how to manage an apiary, as well as the prevention and treatments of parasites and diseases. Based on the success of the first session, a second training will be offered in March.
