Hello Awesome Families! We are missing all of your children's faces and voices! Boyer is such a great space for creativity and learning, but we can have plenty of fun at home too. Check out these ideas from our educators. (If you have not scheduled a Virtual Visit with your team, it's simple! Learn more here.)

READING

Pete the Cat Too Cool for School by Kimberly & James Dean:

You can have a lot of silly fun reading this book with your toddler. It is a great book to talk about colors, types of clothing, and what our favorite outfits are. Have your child help name colors and patterns that you see on Pete’s clothing.  This story is a great conversation starter to name types of clothing and then practice putting them on and taking them off.  Play a game of putting on many different types of clothing to see who can create the silliest outfits.

The Family Book by Todd Parr:

This is a fabulous book filled with very colorful illustrations. The story describes many different and diverse types of families, as well as examples of opposites. Help point out some of these opposites around your own home.   This story is also a great way to talk about diversity and what makes your family unique and special.

MUSIC
Join Teacher Dara as she sings about friends, family, and togetherness!
GROSS MOTOR

Play "Simon Says" with your kiddo! You can practice this in the mirror together and model the movements for your child. Instead of saying "Simon", you could also use the name that you refer to yourself by with your kiddo (e.g. "Mama says touch your nose!"). This activity helps children work on imitation, as well as following novel directions.
ART

Identify body parts, shapes and lines while playing with shaving cream during bath time -- or in front of a mirror! During this activity your child is exploring through touch, sight and smell. This activity focuses on process over product. If you would like, take a picture of your little artist in action!
PS. As we face this pandemic, philanthropic support is more crucial than ever! Gifts of all amounts will make a significant impact. Please consider making a gift today to help meet the most urgent needs of our Boyer community.
