Come to the Philoptochos Meeting this Sunday. Help us serve the church and community during Lent.

First, I want to invite you to the March Philoptochos Meeting this Sunday, March 27, 11:30am in the Terrace Room. We thought it might be fun to start by hearing from those of you who saw the movie Man of God. Were you moved, surprised, delighted, or disappointed? Would you recommend it to others? (It's showing again in theaters on Monday, March 28.) We'll also have fellowship, refreshments, volunteer opportunities, and future plans to discuss.

Second, please read about the Lenten opportunities in this newsletter. Check your calendar to see if you're able to participate in any of the events. Then, volunteer at our table during upcoming Social Hours or at the March 27 meeting. Thank you.

Sunday, April 3: St. Mary's Hosts MEOCCA Vespers & Dinner

St. Mary's is hosting the 4-5pm MEOCCA Vespers on Sunday, April 3, and Philoptochos is hosting the dinner afterwards. The dinner will be catered, so we will need people to set-up, serve, and clean-up AND need 6 volunteers to bring a Lenten dessert to share. Chairs: Carol Smith and Andrea Tiggas.

April 16-23: Lazarus Saturday and Holy Week Activities
Philoptochos is serving the church in many ways during Holy Week. Sign-up at our March 27 meeting, after church on upcoming Sundays, or by contacting the chair (if noted).

Lazarus Saturday, April 16 – Receive and place potluck food, clean-up.
Lazarus Saturday, April 16 – Decorate church for Palm Sunday. Andrea Tiggas.
Prior to Holy Thursday, April 21 – Bake 4 dozen koulouria and bring to church freezer.
Holy Friday, April 22, morning – Prepare flowers for kouvouklion. Andrea Tiggas.
Holy Friday, April 22, after Royal Hours – Decorate kouvouklion. Andrea Tiggas.
Holy Friday, April 22, after Royal Hours – Place eggs in red bags and into baskets, plate koulouria for midnight service and Agape service. Paulette Hastings.
Holy Saturday, April 23, after 1^st Resurrection Service, 11:30am – Change decorations in church for Saturday evening. Andrea Tiggas.

There are additional activities happening in the church, including the Holy Friday Retreat and Pascha Meal after the midnight Resurrection Service. Watch for information and ways to get involved in these events, too!

Support our Drives: NOW through Palm Sunday
TANDEM Baby Bottle Collection
Our annual collection for Tandem, who supports women in crisis, is beginning. Pick up a baby bottle (or an envelope) and fill it with dollar bills, coins and checks!

FOCUS Fun and Games Drive
During the month of April, Philoptochos is collecting "fun and games" items for FOCUS' adult clients, including new and gently used books, 500+ piece puzzles and games, and backpacks. Please bring them to our table during April.
