UFI’s World Map of Exhibition Venues
Venue space continues to grow in most regions of the world, and this year UFI charted this growth with its report on the World Map of Exhibition Venues (with a minimum of 5,000sqm). In addition to analysing indicators on key regional trends, it lists the largest venues for all 28 markets where total capacity exceeds 200,000sqm of gross indoor exhibition space.
Working Internationally

UAE and Saudi Arabia

From 1 January 2108 a 5% VAT rate will be levied in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. This applies to all companies domiciled or registeres in the United Arab Emirates. We are still trying to find out to what extent and how this tax can be refunded. This means services provided from UAE registered companies will become 5% more expensive since refund is not cleared by now. Please be aware of rising prices.

The Expo Event Live Communivation Association in Switzerland succeeded in removing the exhibition stand constructors from the Sscope oft he CLA oft he carpentry industry. This ekliminates the high wage surcharges at work on evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.
However the minimum wage compliance, the oberservance of working hours and social security contributions still aplly. These are dependent on the canton showground. It is therefore recommended either to work with Swiss based IFES members or make sure that you follow all rules oft he minimum wage loylaw. Otherwise substential fines will occure.
