Make Your Dock & Lift Last
Today's the first day of Spring and boating season is right around the corner! With Spring now here, maintaining your lift and/or dock will allow you to go boating sooner without having to get your dock or lift serviced. There are a few key things you should be doing to make your lift and/or dock and ultimately save you money!
  • Lube her up! Lube your wench box, gears, chains, pulleys, and all moving parts.
  • Inspect your cables for signs of wear. Pay close attention to any abrasions or kinks. These are signs they need to repaired right away to keep you from having lift failure.
  • The key to longer motor life is to keep your motor unplugged when you don't plan to use it for a longer period of time.
  • Make a baking soda paste to clean aluminum structures like your ladder (see "Tricks To Clean Your Ladder" below).
Product Highlight - HydroLocker
The newest compliment to any dock or marina to withstand all outside environments is the HydroLocker. It is built with tough UV stabilized polyethylene construction. They are impact resistant and maintenance free. No need to worry about someone else getting into it either - they accept padlocks to keep you protected. They are the most user-friendly dock storage lockers to store your belongings with a piece of mind.

The HydroLocker comes in two different shapes and sizes: the HyrdoLocker 78" and the HydroLocker Triangle. The 78" model has 25 cubic-feet storage capacity and a lid to resist water from getting in. The HydroLocker Triangle has 14 cubic-feet capacity, raised edges to keep water from getting in, and a power option with Energy Mate.

Tricks To Clean Your Ladder

The algae build up on your ladder can be a bit of a pain. We want to make sure your ladder is clean, slippery free, and ready for the Summer ahead. We, too, once felt we tried everything under the sun to get the ladder on our dock looking brand new again.

Power-washing your ladder is always an option, but there is also an easier trick to cleaning your ladder with baking soda. Mix 1/2 cup of baking soda and start by adding 2 tablespoons of water until the baking soda mixture looks like a paste. Once you have the perfect mixture, apply it to your ladder and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Next take a scrubby-brush and scrub while the paste is still on the ladder. You should begin to see the algae go away. Now your ladder should look good as new and be safe for those children and grandchildren with tiny feet.

Don't Let Your Lift Become an Umbrella
When you pull out your canopy from storage this Spring, there are a few things to keep in mind when you begin to put it back onto your lift. Before you even begin - put your boat on the lift. Otherwise your lift could become an umbrella when you begin to put on your canopy. Having your boat on the lift will also allow you to use it as a platform to walk around as you're putting it on. Use 1-2 people to do this task, it will make the job easier. Now your boat is protected from the sun and weather, and you are ready for a fabulous season on the water!

Dock Customization Ideas
Waterfront owners spend a good amount of time on their shorelines. Generic boat dock layouts tend to get the job done, but they're not for everyone. There are several ways you can customize your waterfront to make it unique and your own.

Choose The Perfect Layout
Your dock design and layout is what you will want to begin thinking about. For seasonal dock owner's wheel-in dock or floating docks may be a good option if your water level fluctuates. Sectional docks give you the freedom to attach them in several different ways.

Consider Curved Dock Designs
A curved dock can really set your dock apart from your neighbor's. It can help you get the perfect layout to be the most functional for your needs.

Choose Your Favorite Decking
There are several different decking options for everyone. Removal decking makes it easy to upgrade your dock system. Plastic flow-through and aluminum are also great low-maintenance options.

Dock Accessories
Paddleboards, watersport racks, fishing rod holders, and dock furniture are just a few options of the perfect accessories to give your dock the finishing touches. The options are endless!
