Blue Haven Public School's improvement journey
Principal of Blue Haven Public School, Paul McDermott, recently shared insights into how evidence-based practices at the school have led to significant growth in student learning at Blue Haven.
You can now watch the video recording of his talk.

Increasing parent participation in Tell Them From Me surveys

We've released practical resources and case studies to help schools lift parent participation in the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) survey. High participation rates in the TTFM parent survey helps schools reliably identify areas of strength and areas for improvement from the perspective of parents, and helps inform practical changes where needed.
Using data with confidence: The Educator Calculator
Have you used The Educator Calculator (TEC)? TEC is part of the Using data with confidence resources. This multipurpose calculator helps teachers analyse internal and external student assessments, and evaluate and modify student learning and/or teaching practices as needed.
With TEC, teachers can:
  • analyse the distribution of student scores in an assessment for a class, across a grade or across a stage
  • monitor learning growth for a cohort of students in all key learning areas over time
  • compare distribution of student performance between pre and post-tests.
Teachers and school leaders can learn how to use tools such as The Educator Calculator to interpret data by accessing the ‘Using data with confidence’ online resources or the face-to-face course.
