Well, I suppose it had to happen but still, we are sorry to see Mattie Kenny leave the club.  He is stepping up to become the Dublin Senior Hurling Manager, a job he will no doubt excel at.

During Mattie's time at Cuala, the impact he has had throughout the club has been immense.  Through Three Dublin Championships, Two Leinster Championships and Two All Ireland Championships he has forged a team and led the lads to places we could only have dreamed off.

He helped to create a club rather than a collection of teams.  He gave us an identity on the national stage and a pride in what we all do and are as members of Cuala.

Thank you, Mattie, and of course Greg.  Good luck swapping Cuala's Red and White for the Blue of the Dubs.  There will always be a welcome for you in Dalkey.

Congratulations to the 3rd Adult Hurlers who crowned a Championship winning season with promotion last Sunday to Division 4 of next season's League.  That means that our second and third teams will now be playing against each other, and gives us three teams in the top four divisions of Dublin Hurling.

Good luck to the same 3rd Hurlers who take on the Junior Champions of Wexford at Lilleedy GAA Club in West Limerick on Sunday in the Quarter Final of the Leinster Championship.  Throw in is at 3 PM

Good luck as well to the 3rd Adult Footballers who play their Dublin Championship Final against Na Fianna, also on Sunday at 2-30 in O'Toole Park.

Whether you fancy a trip to Crumlin or the Treaty County on Sunday, both teams would be grateful of the support.

Good luck to the Minor Camogie team who travel to Good Counsel in their Championship on Sunday Morning

Congratulations to Cian Waldron who won a Christy Ring All-Star award last Friday.

Fancy your hand as a manager?  The Ladies Football section are inviting applications to be involved with the Ladies Football and Camogie Adult and Minor teams throughout 2019.

Take a look at how to apply here.

And of course, the search to appoint Mattie Kenny's successor as Senior Hurling Manager will be getting underway shortly, overseen by the Adult Hurling Committee.

The Annual General Meeting of the Club will take place on Tuesday, December 11th in the club, likely time will be 8 PM and more details to come in the coming weeks.  For now, it's just to mark the date

The Adult Ladies Section AGM takes place on November 15th in the Cuala Club at 8 PM.  We will advise of other section AGM's as we become aware of dates being set.

It is with great sadness that we learnt this week of the passing of Nicky Quill. Known by many within the club Nicky’s son Fintan has been a stalwart and a leading light among us for many years. The Funeral mass will take place on Monday 12th at 10AM in Johnstown Church.
