Youth Advisory Board Safeguarding Training Visit

On Monday 1st August, our Momentum team members Aimee Gedge (Momentum Service Manager) and Charlotte Berry (Momentum Groups Officer) in partnership with MTM Youth Services visited the South Norfolk young commissioners to deliver a Safeguarding Training Session.
If you are a group or organisation that is based in Norfolk who works with young people aged 11-19 and would like a young person tailored Safeguarding session delivered in-house, please simply get in touch by contacting Charlotte Berry (Momentum Groups Officer);

Visit our website to find out what topics Aimee and Charlotte covered in their training session for South Norfolk young commissioners.

Introduction to Exploitation for Frontline Workers

A new ‘Introduction to exploitation for frontline workers’ training module has been developed by the Pathfinder Project, in partnership with NSAB, NSCP and NCCSP. The module helps those working with children or vulnerable adults understand risks of exploitation, and what your role is in protecting those at risk. It will help you prepare for handling exploitation concerns, think carefully about the language and terminology used and give you confidence to be more vigilant with those you work with.

Find and complete the new Introduction to Exploitation training module online.

The 4th Annual Anti-bullying Conference

Wednesday 16th November, Thetford

The conference is for young people and professionals from across Norfolk, hear from experts in the field and take part in youth led workshops.

Heroes & Villains T-Shirt Design Course for 18-24 Year-olds

25 October - 29 November, Norwich

Over a series of 6 free sessions, participants will use their own dreams and experiences to develop stories exploring goals and obstacles in their own lives.

These stories will become the basis of comics or illustrated poems for their own, unique T-shirt which they can keep!

All materials and the final T-shirt are provided for free. For more information, visit Essential Sequential's website.

Updated Youth Work Network Patlet Board

Our Padlet board has had a bit of a refresh! We've added a few new sections and items. Feel free to use it to share resources, training opportunities and information about new projects. It also has a ‘Q&A’ section where you can get support from your fellow youth workers and answer their queries.

If you’re not used to Padlet and want some help getting started, please contact Charlotte.

Help with Food Costs

As the cost of living crisis escalates, more families will be pushed into food poverty. While it’s not a long-term solution, social supermarkets and community pantries can make a difference. The Nourishing Norfolk Network have a list of food projects they have funded on their website, so please feel free to share this information with families and young people you’re working with.
