Tenth Week in Ordinary Time
"The month of June is dedicated in a special way to the veneration of the divine Heart. Not just on one day – the liturgical feast, which generally falls in June – but every day."  St. John Paul II, Angelus, 27 June 1982

Let us prepare our hearts for the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and meditate upon this reflection offered by Deacon Anthony J. Cincotta from Saint Mary Magdalen Parish, Media, PA.

The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus comes to us as an invitation to look more deeply into the mystery of the humanity of Christ.  The Lord Jesus, who out of His great love, laid down His life for us and poured out that love by opening His heart on the cross, as His body poured out His precious blood and living water.  That is, the blood of the living lamb, and the water of the Spirit of baptism and Eucharist.  On the Solemnity of The Scared Heart, we are reminded to drink deeply from this spring of eternal life.
I once read that as we celebrate this feast day, we are to look lovingly at Jesus’ wounded heart, and become so moved at what we see that we have the desire to have our hearts wounded by the fire of His love, a wound that heals our defective hearts, a wounded heart that is thirsting for the blood of the lamb who takes away the sins of the whole world.  Through the mystery of the Sacred Heart of Jesus we are invited to penetrate the mystery of God’s human heart.  We are called to thirst for Him and be wounded, so that the more we love, the more we desire to love, the more our hearts suffer and are wounded, the more we find the healing power of our Savior.  Essentially, what was hidden and unseen by our mortal eyes, is now made visible in the open heart of Christ; what was inaccessible is now a fountain of eternal life.
Dear friends, at the moment of Jesus death, the earth shook, the rocks were split open and the world became dark.  The Sacred Heart of Jesus enables our “stony” hearts to become flesh and beat along with the heart of Christ, and to drink deeply of the living water that wells up to eternal life.  If our wounded world is to become holy, it needs the prayers and works of the saints who live in the heart of Christ.  Jesus’ Sacred Heart invites us to such holiness.

Question of the Day:  Will you drink deeply from the spring of eternal life?
Prayer:  “Thus says the Lord: Let whoever is thirsty come to me and drink.  Streams of living water will flow from within the one who believes in me.”  John 7:37-38.

ENTHROWN YOUR HOME TO THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS!

Enthronement to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, is a conscious decision to place Jesus at the center of your life and home. Enthronement to the Sacred Heart is a fulfillment of a request Jesus made to St. Margaret Mary in the 1670s when He said, “I will bless every place in which an image of my Heart is exposed and honored.”

This is closely aligned with providing a home for the Flame of Love who is Jesus Himself:

Elizabeth writes:   “Because of all my efforts at nightly prayer, the Lord promised that he, himself, would wake me up. I am happy when he awakens me. The night prayer goes quickly. I want to record a special happening. One summer night, as we finished our conversation, he paused for a long time in front of our house. He spoke of the virtues practiced by my children when they were small and of the merits of our family prayer. He appreciated that our family was consecrated to the Sacred Heart and practiced that devotion.
Suddenly, he said,   “I bless this house that is consecrated to my Sacred Heart.”
This blessing was a sublime experience.
He said,  “My Mother obliges me to bless your family because with every longing of your heart, you desire to spread her Flame of Love.”
