Tell us about the origins of Shiraz Events?
In 2000, I helped a friend start a model staffing agency in New York City. When he chose to step away from the business, I decided to move forward with the staffing agency, which eventually become a modern, high-end catering company, working privately with David Bowie and Iman, Bergdorf Goodman, and the Hamptons, just to name a few. As the years went by, it was clear that my passion was in design, and so an event design and production department was created. Then followed by an office in Miami, another one later in Los Angeles and now reaching across the pond in London. There was a time when Yaniv and I were vacationing in Miami and we attended an upscale cocktail party with many of Miami’s socialites. We were unimpressed by the food, décor and service. We thought, “Hey, we can do this… and we can do it better.”
