What a great International Women’s Day! Over 40 CEOs united for gender equality, committing to concrete goals. We held a high-class event on the evening of March 8 in cooperation with the University of Zurich in the venerable chambers of the big Aula. Our initiative even made it onto the cover of the Sonntagszeitung!
I truly believe that initiatives like this can move the needle in favor of more gender diversity in Switzerland − not least because they create media and social media buzz. Our hashtags #genderequalityCH and #WeAdvance trended on Twitter. And we were also able to increase the number of followers and gain some influential new ones.
We are planning to intensify our actions to mobilize for gender equality and inclusion − not only as a moral obligation, but as a business need. We still count on you, and welcome your feedback and ideas. Together we will ADVANCE even faster!

“It’s time to act” was the motto of our public initiative to mobilize for more gender diversity in Switzerland. For the first time, 40 Swiss-based leaders united to pledge concrete goals. Are you curious to see who participated and what they committed to? Have a look at our website:
We celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8 together with over 150 guests and a top-class panel:
Eleanor Tabi Haller-Jorden (The Paradigm Forum), Prof. Michael Hengartner (University of Zurich), Simona Scarpaleggia (IKEA), Kristine Braden (Citi), Natasche Schill Schulze (Biogen), and Prof. Tatiana Crivelli Speciale (University of Zurich). The key take-away: gender equality is still 100 years off if we continue moving at the same pace. Representatives from business, academia and government have to intensify their actions, and not be afraid to set and pursue bolder objectives!

Mentoring kickoff and closing event
This year’s mentoring wave will welcome 47 pairs – more than ever before. It starts on April 6. Mentors and mentees will meet in Zurich to get to know each other, exchange experiences, network, and kick off their mentoring work. At the same event we will be celebrating the completion of Wave 3. We’re looking forward to many success stories!

What’s next on the agenda?

We’d like to make you especially aware of a new workshop we’re offering soon: 
The Keys to Unlock Management Effectiveness (previous title “How to Manage a Company”) on April 4, 2017, 9am to 5pm, with Diego Polo-Friz, Professor of Management at the State University of Milan.
Managing people and delivering results is more than intuition. It requires a set of skills that go beyond technical expertise. Funnily enough, when we get management responsibilities, we don’t automatically receive formal management training as well. In this workshop, you will learn what no university has ever taught you: the framework that needs to be in place for you to be an effective leader. Learn how to handle your P&L account and your resources, how to behave as a manager to create value, and how to inspire others to follow you.
