The Making Memories Befriending Service

Quality of the Moment Dementia Training

This training is for: anyone who has an interest in understanding Dementia, anyone who is considering becoming a Befriender for someone with dementia or other / undiagnosed memory problems.

Launch of New National Illegal Money Lending Team Website

The NTS Illegal Money Lending Team England has launched a new website, which is a one stop shop for victims, the police, and partner agencies etc. It provides valuable information about the team and details regarding ‘what is a loan shark’. There are specific links for partner agencies concerning resources and how they can assist organisation, in addition to educational material for schools. Importantly there is also a reporting mechanism for victims / informants to make a specific report online (even including a requested time call back). www.stoploansharks.co.uk/

Public events to hear views on joint plan for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire (the STP)

The organisations that commission and provide health and social care services across Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County are seeking the views of patients and the wider public on their joint five year Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP).


To provide more opportunity for public feedback, a series of events has now been planned during January and February across the city and county. Local people are invited to attend, hear more about the STP and how it will affect patients, citizens, carers and service users and take part in discussion with representatives from the STP partner organisations.

Making Memories Activity Group & Inspire Culture

Making Memories weekly Activity group, will be running a Free 6 week Creative Crafts Course for anyone with memory problems and their carers. The course will be provided by Inspire Culture starting Friday 24th February – 31st March 1pm – 3pm at Newark CVS. Nottinghamshire Cares Hub & Inspire Culture

Working in partnership with Inspire Culture, Nottinghamshire Carers Hub are running some Health & Wellbeing Workshops for Carers.  The workshops are an opportunity for carers to gain skills, knowledge and understanding across a range of different areas that will help them in their caring role and help their own health and wellbeing.

Autism East Midlands Family Support Hub

Momentum Music Fund – First 2017 Round Open

Funding is available for artists and bands to help progress their careers.    The Momentum Music Fund is a financial resource for talented artists and bands to help further their careers. The Fund covers a broad range of contemporary popular genres, including innovative and emerging genres.   The programme has an overall budget of £500,000. Individual grants of between £5,000 and £15,000 will be awarded. A new round has just launched with a deadline for applications of 21 February 2017. www.prsformusicfoundation.com/Funding/Momentum-Music-Fund/


Galaxy Hot Chocolate Fund

The Galaxy Hot Chocolate Fund is now accepting applications for small, one-off awards of £300. 

Local charities, community groups, schools and individuals from across the UK and Ireland are invited to apply for an award to help support sporting or leisure activities or hobbies that are beneficial to individuals or communities.

TEAM

TEAM have launched an Small Grants Programme, apply for funding of up to £5,000 to pilot a small project that supports partnership working with NHS partners or GP practices and meets the aims of the Mid Nottinghamshire Better Together Transformation Programme.

Civil Society - 2017 Charity Awards Open to Nominations (UK)

The Charity Awards recognise and celebrate the inspirational work of UK charities and share best practice and learning across the sector. The Awards aim to recognise and celebrate the inspirational work of UK charities and share best practice and learning across the sector. UK charities of any size are eligible to apply under a number of broad categories of activity.
Applicants must be able to prove the highest standards and meet the challenge of the Award's 10 Hallmarks of Excellence in their applications.

Transform Foundation Invites UK Applications for Website Grants

The Transform Foundation is offering grants to charities and not-for-profit organisations in the UK that need money to build a website with particular interest in applications outside of London.
The Foundation's first grant opportunity is aimed at UK registered charities and other not-for-profit organisations with a social mission that require investment ‘to build an amazing web presence’.

There is a two-stage application process. Stage 1 applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until at least the first half of 2017. Deadlines for the subsequent stages will be provided during the application process. www.transformfoundation.org.uk/

Life Chances Fund –  Launch & Information Event – 17th February 2017

The Life Chances Fund (LCF) is an £80 million top-up fund, whose objective is to help those people in society who face the most significant barriers to leading happy and productive lives. The fund is particularly focused on outcomes in early years and for young people.

A launch event will take place from 9.30 until 12.30 on 17th February 2017 in Nottingham.  The event will be delivered by the Head of the Fund and will include:

Coalfields Community Investment Programme (England) Opens for 2017

The Coalfields Community Investment Programme is currently accepting applications from not-for-profit groups and organisations working in the most deprived coalfield communities in the North East, North West, the Midlands, Yorkshire and Kent


Applicants must complete the Eligibility Survey before they can complete a full application form, and the deadline for this survey is seven days before the application deadline.

Customer Services Co-ordinator
Based in our office in Nottingham, your main duties will be co-ordinating all aspects of our marketing and communications with our client groups and assisting the Chief Executive. This is a part time post from 15 - 20 hours a week with a degree of flexibility. Starting salary FTE £22,878 pro rata (full time is 35 hours).

Community Accountant
Based in our office in Nottingham with occasional travel to clients, the role is to provide accounting and bookkeeping services and support to our clients. This is a part time post from 21 - 28 hours a week with a degree of flexibility. Starting salary FTE £23,536 pro rata (full time is 35 hours)

This is an opportunity for volunteer managers to come together in a friendly and supportive environment to share information, good practice and network.  We usually meet once a quarter.

Newark & Sherwood CVS Voluntary Transport Scheme & Door2Door are currently looking for volunteer drivers in the Newark & Sherwood area. We have two car schemes operating throughout the District. Both services share a team of volunteer drivers who use their own cars and receive a mileage allowance. People are eligible to use the services if they are unable to use, or do not have reasonable access to, alternative transport.

The Dementia Information Service provides one to one signposting, information and advice for people with Dementia or undiagnosed memory problems, their families and carers to access the information they need, when they need it.
