After classical guitar lessons from age 7, British-born composer, John Robert Wood, hit the teen years and with a head full of Hendrix and Thin Lizzy, left school to play in bands all over the North East and London. He then scored a gig touring Europe with a Blues Brothers tribute band and from there, the talented young lad was offered tours with Sam Brown, Seal, Vanessa Mae, Robbie Williams and his childhood hero, Thin Lizzy guitarist, Scott Gorham. A burgeoning gear hound, John furiously applied all he learnt on the road in the studio. Before long, he was scoring campaigns for Nike, Mercedes-Benz  and Nintendo, receiving an Addy award and often in the Shoot Magazine Top Ten for music. So what does an emerging composer do at this point? He completes the UCLA film scoring course (twice), studies privately with UCLA and USC faculty members, attends lectures, seminars, clinics...Emmy-nominated and the recipient of four ASCAP awards, John is best known for his work on the hit USA Network TV series, Psych and TNT's Franklin & Bash.
