Hi everyone!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday! I went up north to spend the weekend with my Mom. Took the opportunity to shoot one night. But unfortunately, nothing earth shattering presented itself.

I want to thank Ernesto and Jason for giving a great talk about portfolios at our November meeting. I like how it kind of turned into a round-table discussion meeting where we all added our own little tidbits. That's what I love about our club. So many open and giving members sharing of our resources to help one another.

Also, we had a great sunrise shoot at the Biscayne NP, which I of course slept through. Sorry folks, I'm not much of an early morning person. LOL  But sounds like you all had a great time. For those who attended, could you please send me an image from that day so I can share it on the website (and IG)? Thanks so much!

I know we don't have any meetings or field trips this month, but that doesn't mean we don't have activities planned! No sirreeey! Not this weekend, but next, we have our DuPuis Camping weekend. I have a few of you signed up. And I know tent camping isn't for everyone, but if it is, please consider coming. It's the Geminids and despite a near full moon, we should be able to see plenty of meteors. My go-
to guy for night photography, Alyn Wallace, just put out his "What's in the Night Sky December 2019" video (click HERE for the link to that) and he said Geminids are large and plentiful. The only thing the bright moon will block are the small faint meteors. Those don't make good photos anyway.

ALSO... on Wednesday, Dec. 18th we have our Christmas/Holiday party! I asked for RSVP's to be sent in by Dec. 1st. We have a few days before the chef buys his supplies, so if you decide you want to go, please respond to this email ASAP!

We had our officers meeting and we kind of polished our calendar up a bit. I haven't had time to update everything yet. So keep watch for updates to the upcoming meetings and field trips. I'll be sure to have it all wrapped up in a pretty bow by the time January comes along!

And in closing, if I don't see you before the end of the month, on behalf of all of the Officers and Directors of the SFNPCC, we wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  Hope to see you all soon!

Do YOU have an upcoming event you'd like to promote through the SFNPCC newsletter and on our website? We've discussed and approved promoting our members' individual activities, so let me have them! I'll add them to our "Upcoming Events" note (and include a link to a website if you give me one). Email it to me at with all of the details.
Last minute RSVP!! Don't wait!

We've reserved the group camping section at the DuPuis Management Area, just south and a little bit east of Port Mayaca and Lake Okeechobee, for the weekend of Dec. 13-16th. This will be in conjunction with the Geminid Meteor Shower so it should be a great opportunity for night photography.

SPACES ARE LIMITED. PLEASE RSVP NOW so plans can be finalized. Click here for the website and updated info.

Our wonderful and generous friends, Judy & Merv Waldman, are throwing the club a fantastic Christmas/Holiday party at the Palace Gardens in Homestead! RSVPs should be sent in by now, if not, do it TODAY! This will be a nice event and we need to know how many are coming.

Date is Wednesday December 18th. Cocktails at 6pm, dinner to follow. This is sure to be a good time! But, we need definite RSVPs NOW. So don't wait! CLICK HERE TO RSVP.

The early-bird special is still offered till the end of the month! For what? (Glad you asked) for the Florida Camera Club Council (FCCC) annual conference to be held March 6th - 8th, in Fort Myers. If you've previously registered with the FCCC you should have received this memo in your email. If you're interested, follow the email's directions and sign up.

If you ARE NOT registered with the FCCC (you're automatically a member if you're a member of the SFNPCC) go and do that now! Click here for the FCCC WEBSITE's membership page. Because even though you're automatically a member of the FCCC, you still have to register. Once you do that, you'll be able to enter the many competitions they have throughout the year and get special pricing at the FCCC annual conference! So don't delay... join today!

Oh, and there's a special guest going to be there as one of the official speakers... shhhh, gotta click the link to find out. Be sure to register before the end of the year to get the 'early-bird' price.

Do you know where to find the latest info for meetings and field trips? Our WEBSITE! Our website is I like to keep a shortcut linked on my computer's desktop, and my phone, so I can easily connect when I need fast info. Maybe you would too!

SFNPCC is on Instagram!
Our IG account is well in use. Any images you send will be properly tagged and uploaded for folks to see. So be sure to send me a photo or two from any SFNPCC event!
To find us on Instagram, search for our group name or click here sfnpcc_club. If you prefer me to NOT share on social media, please just say so and I'll leave it off.

Facebook Page & Group

The club has 2 official Facebook (FB) groups. One is a FB public "page", and the other is a private "group".

The public page is for viewing by the general public; everyone can see and participate. And if you're on FB, you can find it by typing the full name of the club, in the search bar. Or click here PUBLIC PAGE.

Our private FB group is for members only. To join the group, type SFNPCC Members in the search box, and click "JOIN" to request (or click PRIVATE GROUP). If you're a current member of the club, I'll accept you.

Feel free to share club photos, ask for critiques, and ask photography related questions here. This is also where I create our field trip "events" (in addition to our website, of course). We created this private FB account so that we could discuss freely any photography related items without the prying eyes of the general public. Enjoy!

We have a gallery tab on our website, and it's full of images. If you go to the website and click on the Galleries tab, you'll find images from our previous trips, weekends away, our Facebook challenges, and other various events.

Recently added photos include the Scavenger Hunt from July. So be sure to visit and enjoy each other's photos.

Going forward, during each field trip and weekend away, we're taking an attendance of participants. After the event is over, we'll email you all separately to ask to submit a photo or two for the website. We're asking this so we can document the trip and show people who stumble onto our website that we are an active and viable club, worthy of membership! So please, try to remember to send me an image or two.

If you're one who likes to keep his or her work for sales or gallery shows, by all means, keep it for those events, but please share something. Even if you have a good photo of the group shooting or having fun. Those are always welcome too.
So that's all I have for December. Hope to see you at our events. Have a great month, and Merry Christmas to all!

Barbara Livieri
Secretary - SFNPCC
