IPBES call for experts for Nature Futures Scenario workshop
(Closing Soon)

Please consider applying and using EuroMarine as nominator

Dear members of the EuroMarine / European marine science community,

Time is running out to apply to the IPBES (the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services) open call for nominations for experts in modelling biodiversity and ecosystem services across different scales and services.

These experts will be participating in a Platform workshop that will introduce the Nature Futures Framework developed by the IPBES task force on scenarios and models and help catalyse the development of scenarios and models for IPBES by communities that develop and apply models of different types, scales and domains relevant to biodiversity and ecosystem services.

To strengthen the marine dimension of the IPBES assessments, and as in previous IPBES calls, EuroMarine strongly encourages scientists from its member organisations, and from the European marine science community at large, to apply for nominations through the IPBES websiteIf you are not yet registered on the IPBES website you will also need to register: https://ipbes.net/user/register.

The last day for completing the application form is this coming Monday, 9 November 2020.

Nominations need to be validated either by an organisation (and EuroMarine is one of the organisations recognised by IPBES) or by the country of the applicant (through its national focal point).

EuroMarine will be happy to examine and validate nominations (IPBES will then choose from all nominees its pool of experts and fellows).
