Members' corner - What's new and happening


>> Call for candidates to 2021 SC positions
There is still time for interested scientists from Full Member organisations to apply for a seat on the EuroMarine Steering Committee. There are three positions open for 2021. Applications must be made by January 24th 2021.

>> 2021 General Assembly (26-27 Jan. 2021, Online)
GA representatives are reminded that they must register through this form for the GA by January 24th at the latest. Representatives are also free to invite other scientists within their organization (particularly those who've previously contributed to the recent EuroMarine consultation) to register for Day 2, which will consist of a scientific session centered on a renewed EuroMarine science programme for the Ocean Decade. The 2021 GA meeting booklet is now available to view on the website.

>> MODEL-EDC FWS Postponed
Due to impacts from the Covid-19 pandemic, including the postponement of the CECE2020/ISFE event around which this activity was originally planned, the EuroMarine-funded foresight workshop MODEL-EDC has been further postponed to a provisional date in September 2021. Further updates will be posted to the activity page as they're made available.

AQUACOSM call for Transnational Access


AQUACOSM (EU network of mesocosms facilities for research on marine and freshwater ecosystems open for global collaboration) have opened their 2021 Transnational Access call offering to scientists and related industry, from all over the world, access to mesocosm facilities (both marine and freshwater).

EuroMarine call for candidates for 2021 Steering Committee positions


EuroMarine opens on 6 Jan. 2021 its annual call for candidates to join its Steering Committee (SC) - to be partially renewed every year from 2016 on, as decided by the General Assembly (GA) during its 2015 meeting. Three positions are open to candidates for 2021 (As decided by the GA in 2019, there are alternatively 2 and 3 open positions each year).

Funded by Biodiversa and the Belmont Forum, the SOMBEE international project aims at setting up ecosystem models and a set of climatic and socio-economic scenarios in order to project the plausible future of marine biodiversity and its exploitation. In particular, SOMBEE aims to assess the role of the evolution of fish populations in their capacity of resistance and resilience to future global changes.
