This is to warn all subscribers to the EuroMarine news digests that a scammer is currently using Philippe Cury's identity and a "firstname.lastname@example.org" address (with one p only unlike the true address) in the "From" field of the messages to try to have EuroMarine members wire money to an account.
This is a classical scam, which can easily be spotted by e.g. checking the address present in the "reply-to" field of the message header; the author probably only uses information publicly available on our website (and probably only targets EuroMarine members registered in our online directory). We do not suspect any hacking of the IRD mail servers or security breach on the side of our MailChimp mailing list.
However, we prefer to warn you. If you receive similar messages in the coming days (allegedly from Philippe Cury or other scientists involved in the governance of EuroMarine), please simply ignore them.
