On the blog: L&I's recent rulemaking roundup
Over at our blog, we've put up a new post running down the Department of Labor & Industries' recent rulemaking activity on topics of interest to self-insurers. There are four new rules, a couple just announced this week, and a couple new policy topics under discussion at the Department. Take a look!

Workers' Comp Benchmarking Study available
Earlier this summer we encouraged WSIA members to take part in a survey collecting data for an annual Workers' Compensation Benchmarking Study, sponsored by Rising Medical Solutions and advised by a number of nationwide industry leaders. The 2014 report is now out and available to WSIA members.

Register now for the December 12th WSIA/L&I Self-Insurance Colloquium
Last week I asked you to save the date for the next SI Colloquium sponsored by WSIA and Labor & Industries, taking place December 12th at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, "Preventing Development of Chronic Pain and Disability with a Focus on Low Back Pain." Yesterday, the Department released to the SI listserv the agenda and sign-up sheet and that information is now also up on our website. Registration for the day's program is $25, preferably by credit card, to cover catering and administration. For more information, contact Kari Heinold

Winter West Conference now registering
We opened registration for our Winter West conference this week, "New Strategies for Self-Insurance Success," and hope to see many of you on January 23, 2015 at the Inn at Gig Harbor for this special daylong educational and networking opportunity. Our conference programming depends on the valuable sponsorship support of our members, and we thank members for taking a look at the sponsorship packages now available for Winter West.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving holiday next week.
The WSIA Weekly will be on hiatus next week for the Thanksgiving holiday, raiding the refrigerator for leftover turkey and stuffing sandwiches. Have a great weekend and a blessed holiday next week.
