Spring Conference underway
We're ringing in the first day of spring with our yearly Spring Conference, underway today at Valley Medical Center in Renton. This year's conference focuses on various aspects of the medical management of on-the-job injuries, from various health care disciplines. About 80 of your colleagues have turned out for a great day of networking and professional development! A special thanks to Amplifon Hearing Health Care for sponsoring the conference.

Benefit accuracy working group bill to get hearing next Tuesday
Meanwhile, in the Legislature, activity has narrowed considerably on workers' compensation proposals. WSIA's top remaining priority, the creation of a working group at Labor and Industries to tackle issues of benefit accuracy and simplification, is set to receive a hearing before the House Labor Committee next Tuesday afternoon. ESB 5510, about which we've been updating for a couple weeks, would direct L&I to convene business and labor reps to work with the Department on possible consensus solutions to the uncertainty and complexity of wage calculations.
Latest Liaison Committee minute up
The minutes from last week's meeting of WSIA's Liaison Committee are now available on the website. There are, as always, several staffing updates within the Department's Self-Insurance section, as well as a number of policy clarifications discussed in the report. For more information about the Liaison Committee or to bring up an issue to pursue with the Department, please contact Kris Tefft.

Click the graphic above (or here) to get agenda information and further links to registration, golf tournament registration, hotel reservation, sponsorship packages, exhibitor information and more for this year's big Annual Conference in May. We've worked hard to plan what we think is going to be the best Annual yet, so make your plans now to attend and, if you'd like, consider sponsoring and/or exhibiting. There are still some sponsor levels available, and a number of exhibitor spaces available. This one's going to be a lot of fun!
