A Musical Masterpiece
For this performance, we are joined by a formidable line-up of soloists, including the return of the multi-talented soprano Peyee Chen, who wowed the audience in the Camerata's Town Hall performance of Bach's St John Passion in 2017.
Peyee's appearances as a soloist around the world include the Gavin Bryars Ensemble, Edinburgh Contemporary Music Ensemble, Pierrot Lunaire on the York Spring Festival, to name but a few.
Reviews from her performances with the Gavin Bryars Ensemble at Adelaide Festival include:
"Soprano Peyee Chen delivered phenomenal clarity from her first note, and when she soared with a grace that seemed to be ethereal, the result was spine tingling" - Limelight Magazine
"For me, the outstanding performer of the night was […] the superb soprano Peyee Chen. What a voice! And such clarity and precision. I would happily listen to her all night long." - InDaily
"Soprano, Peyee Chen, possesses a voice that the very Gods would applaud and she is not afraid to use it." - Broadway World
She will be joined by critically acclaimed tenor Joseph Doody who has performed title roles in operatic performances at venues all over the UK and abroad, and Australian baritone Leslie John Flanagan, who has performed leading roles throughout Australia, Europe and the USA.
The ensemble will be conducted by Ben Crick, Skipton Camerata’s conductor and artistic director.
The concert is at 7.30pm at Christ Church in Skipton (doors open at 6.45pm). Tickets are available to book now with prices ranging from just £5.00 - £23.00. Click here for more details and to book yours.
