Friday 14th June at 7.30pm, Christ Church, Skipton
For this work, we are delighted to announce that we will be joined by international violist Maya Meron, whose work includes performances with Sir Simon Rattle at the Berlin Philharmonic and Daniel Barenboim and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra.
Maya was born in Jerusalem in 1980 and studied violin and viola with Miriam Fried at Indiana University, Bloomington and at the Royal Academy of Music, where a special arrangement was made for her to have regular lessons with Tabea Zimmermann.
As a chamber musician, Maya has played at many festivals including Ravinia Festival Stean’s Institute for Young Artists, Open Chamber Music at Prussia Cove and the Spannungen Festival in Heimbach of Lars Vogt.
She has performed in chamber concerts with artists including Christian Tetzlaff, Tanya Tetzlaff, Gustav Rivinius, Lars Vogt, Antje Weithass, Isabelle Faust, Erich Hoebarth and Marie-Elisabeth Hecker and in 2013 was appointed an ‘Associate of Royal Academy of Music’ for her achievements in music.
She will be joining Skipton Camerata’s regular leader Sebastian Mueller, who has performed extensively throughout Europe, USA, South America and Russia including work with the London Symphony Orchestra, who will play the violin solo part in the Mozart work.
The ensemble will be conducted by Ben Crick, Skipton Camerata’s conductor and artistic director.
