Genius Camp: Building Biodomes
Young people ages 8-14 years old are invited to Genius Camp, June 4-29, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Learning Laboratory New Orleans.
In Genius Camp, learners will:
Design and create their own model biodome ecosystems using their growing understanding of various environments and the engineering design process.
Explore environments and ecosystems in New Orleans through research, writing, hands-on activities and weekly themed field trips.
Visit the Pensacola MESS Hall (Math, Engineering, Science and Stuff) and have some fun in the sun at the beach.
Identify a specific skill or body of knowledge he or she will research during daily “genius hour” time.
Engage in daily physical activity at Audubon Park and have weekly swimming days at the Whitney M. Young Memorial Pool.
ABC Camp: 26 letters. 26 days.
Young people ages 4-7 years old are invited to ABC Camp, a 4-week day camp with a focus on early literacy and the arts scheduled for July 9- August 3, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In ABC Camp, learners will:
Celebrate each letter of the alphabet with daily reading, writing and arts activities.
Continue the celebration on Saturday and Sunday with weekend activity guides that will go home each Friday.
Engage in daily physical activity at Audubon Park and weekly field trips to local attractions including Latter Library, Audubon Zoo and the St. Charles Streetcar.
Great Camps, Great Price
At a total cost of $500, or $125 per week, our camps are an affordable option for families who wish to have their children engaged in meaningful, educational activity this summer. Other local summer camps can range in cost from $150 to $350 per week.
