On February 19, 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, which allowed the US military to designate “exclusion zones” to ban anyone of Japanese ancestry. And so the Mile High chapter of JACL sponsors a Day of Remembrance every year so that we won't forget the injustice that happened 79 years ago. They will be hosting a livestream on Saturday, February 20 at 2-4pm to discuss the concept of resistance in America and specifically inter-racial solidarity among Japanese Americans and marginalized groups.
If you have any accessibility concerns about the event, or require any help at all attending virtually, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org >>Attend the livestream on Youtube HERE<<
Need some Valentine's Day plans? Our friends at Thirsty Samurai alongside JARCC are hosting a Virtual Ramen Class this Sunday, February 14 at 4-6pm MST! Teri Galvez is one of our in-house anime nerds. Here are a couple recommendations from her!
Heaven's Design Team: How did God come up with all the animals on earth? Turns out he outsourced them. This fun and creative anime is something that can be enjoyed by people of all age. Get an idea of how creatures were made, and why they weren't XD Available on Crunchyroll
Yukihira Sohma used to only cook at his dad's diner until he was enrolled in the top tier culinary school. Now he's battling it out with other students to come up with the best dishes, and compete for the top spots of the school. This anime is fun, creative, and makes you really want to cook something cool. Fair warning though, there's a lot of, uh, "plot" and out-of-this-world reactions to the food, so keep that in mind going in. Available on Netflix and Crunchyroll
