Living Well on Kauai

It's the simple things we’re reminded of when living the Aloha life — beach and mountain landscapes, adventure and entertainment, taking care of our mind, body and spirit. And just as important is the time we spend with our feet up, kicking back on the lanai, rounding out the pursuit of living well.

A recent Hawaii Life Magazine article, featuring our first Hawaii venture, Kukuiula Club Villas, writes that "East West Partners is proving that innovative design...uncompromising quality...and a commitment to sustainable living aren’t just development buzzwords, they’re absolutely essential. Things like 'indoor/outdoor living' and 'farm to table' aren’t clichés, they’re reality.”

With the first Club Villas closing in June, the project will boast 13 ocean view, single family four-bedroom homes set in Kukuiula’s private club core, a stone’s throw away from a healthy package of six-star amenities and an easy stroll to the ocean. Club Villas will manifest the reality shown in this video.

Farm to Spa to Table

Picture waking up at your new home on Kauai and heading to the spa, where you’re welcomed by a smiling face and the aroma of freshly-picked produce and herbs. You select the perfect fruit and veggie variety for your morning juice blend and start your day well.

Thanks to the Spa at Kukuiula, Club Villa owners now have access to the newest amenity on property: the Spa’s organic gardens. As a place where owners can select medicinal plants and organic foods to create their own custom juices, Spa Manager Justin Franklin fielded planting suggestions from spa therapists, and as fate would have it all requests were granted, and the gardens are in full bloom.

In addition to the therapeutic gardens, owners are also just a short bike ride away from the 110-acre Farm at Kukuiula, where they can harvest even more organic fruits, veggies, eggs and ulu (breadfruit), the Hawaiian superfood.

Farm life at Kukuiula is naturally abundant!

A Welcome Spring Renewal

It's spring time in the mountains. Watching the crocus fight through late snows and seeing the cherry blossoms on the three spindly trees in our yard it's apparent nature is ready for renewal and growth. When I saw this photo of Harry, Susan, Andy, and Kelsey at a Temple in Kyoto, it reminded me that we can all find new experiences. East West Partners is putting the idea of growth into practice as we re-engage with some of our former partners, begin development in familiar locations, and find new opportunities to build relationships and communities everywhere.

I’m happy to announce that over the next two months we will welcome back Jim Telling and Bill Fiveash in Vail and Utah, respectively. Both partners will help us identify new potential in these core markets, and we are fortunate to be in the company of their expertise and enthusiasm. Growth is taking place in Deer Valley as we begin a new project and re-enter that market after a brief hiatus, and new experiences abound as we head east in Denver to the Lowry area where we've entered into an agreement to develop 36 townhomes.

All in all, it's been a great start to Spring. Can’t wait to see the tulips wake up from their long winter naps in the next couple of weeks...along with those big, hungry bears!

Until next time,
Managing Partner
