PROJECT UPDATE

The Sharpest Building

The Triangle Building is moving along very quickly. The crane has come down and the space is on schedule to open in June. Take a look at our time-lapse feed for current progress.

Demonstrating our commitment to sustainable development, we are excited to include Denver's new bike station. It features room for 200 bicycles, showers, lockers, a repair shop, and rentals. The station will be a mecca for bike riders and a boon for commuting workers in the area.

Most importantly, we are thrilled to announce that the building will serve as the world headquarters for Liberty Global, the largest international cable company in the world. The Denver Business Journal recently reported on the move, and we could not be more pleased to establish a lasting relationship with the Triangle Building’s lead tenant. Things are really shaping up in downtown Denver!

SUSTAINING COMMUNITY

The Art of Development

Urban areas are about being interconnected, which makes the success of the building down the street important to the success of your own. In that sense, we’ve been lucky to have some of the best developers in the country working alongside us on The Station at Riverfront Park and Union Station projects, enhancing Denver's pursuit of creating a new center for contemporary lifestyles.

Aesthetic is the manifestation of a city’s character, and for this reason we have focused on lifting the arts in Denver. From establishing the non-profit Riverfront Park Community Foundation and the Museum of Contemporary Art to the incredible collection of public art that dots our neighborhoods, we’ve found ways to fund and develop a thriving arts community.

The New York Times went deep in the value of art and culture in our beloved city, and we applaud their point of view.

A NOTE FROM CRAIG

The Only Constant is Change

February proved to be a month of contrasts and change. The first occurred at the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships, with competitive races, gorgeous weather, a beautiful venue, and top notch concerts all making for a wonderful two weeks.

Contrast at the championships came when watching two races: Seeing Bode Miller’s unfortunate crash while leading the men’s Super-G event was heartbreaking. Watching Mikaela Shiffrin win the women’s Slalom race—with the pressure of being both the hometown-hero AND the last racer—brought tears to my eyes. The world witnessed both the end of the career of one of the top men's ski racers in US history and the continuing ascent of a young, talented woman climbing to the top.

Weather was the second great contrast last month. There was a high of 30 degrees in Charleston, South Carolina, while the same day it was 65 in the mountains of Truckee. Unfortunately, I was in Charleston. Record snows in Boston, the fourth year of drought in California, and snowpack in the West still far below average, all continue to indicate changing weather patterns. From rain to snow, water is a precious resource for the West—and for all of humanity. We need to find ways to conserve and better utilize it in all of its forms.

Moving forward, my commitment for East West Partners is to continue to develop communities in an increasingly sustainable manner, with an emphasis on energy efficiency and resource conservation. I encourage you to visit ProtectOurWinters.org and join their efforts. The weather this past February made me realize this movement is even more important and urgent than I had ever before understood.

Sincerely,
Craig
