Important Compliance Update Notice

Greetings Friend & Valued Client,

I hope this note finds you well and blessed! 
We here at EDIFY Background Screening are committed to helping you succeed by providing industry leading products and outstanding service to meet all your background screening needs.   As part of our service commitment, we strive to keep you informed of legislative and legal changes that might affect your organization and how we here at EDIFY can help.  A current example deals with Authorization and Disclosure forms for applicants/volunteers to review and sign before running background checks. 

Currently, single page Authorization and Disclosure forms are used widely across the country in organizations of all types and sizes; but it is our legal counsel’s recommendation based on recent litigation that it is now necessary to break up some of the information onto multiple pages to address concerns of clarity and simplicity with regard to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).  This is a major “hot-button” issue with very large employers right now and we believe will soon be a concern for smaller organizations and non-profits in the near future.  Therefore, as a result of our conservative approach to compliance issues, we have asked our attorney to review all the sample documents we provide as a courtesy to our clients, and suggest changes that need to be implemented.  Attached below you will find newly updated sample documents reviewed by our legal counsel with expert knowledge of the FCRA and its current requirements with regard to background screening that you can download and use for modeling within your own organization according to your attorney’s direction.  If you are using forms based on older templates provided by us, we strongly advise you to switch to the new template as soon as possible. 

We realize this change will add paperwork to your process; so we are making available our 100% Paperless AMC Solution at 50% discount to eliminate your paperwork and compliance burden.  The AMC already has the new form requirements built in and allows you to send an email link to your applicants or click a button on your website and the applicant fills in everything online and digitally signs all required paperwork.  The AMC eliminates the extra paperwork and fulfills all the FCRA requirements saving you time and money.
