PRESIDENTS MESSAGE
This winter has been a challenge to navigate – both professionally in this market and physically with the weather since Christmas! Your Board has been busy with several initiatives over the past few months.
Annual General Meeting (AGM), April 20th
Our AGM and election of officers is coming up soon and once again and we have a position to fill! If you, or someone you know, would like to participate on the Board, please contact me through our Administrator at calgary@reic.com.

Sponsorships
The Board has learned from other Chapters across the country that they rely heavily on sponsorships for their programs and subsidization of their operating costs. As such, the Calgary Board will be opening up sponsorship opportunities to suppliers and vendors. If you have a key vendor who would be interested in becoming a sponsor, please direct them to our website at

Promoting Our Designations
Toward the end of January, Gareth Jones, FRI, CRES from the National office was in Calgary. He was busy meeting with various organizations to promote the National Association of Realtors (NAR) specialty courses, which are now offered through REIC (read further to find out more), and to meet with employers to promote the Certified Leasing Officer (CLO) designation and related courses. During the last weekend in January REIC National had an information booth at the Banff Western Connection, which was a fantastic REALTOR® conference. I worked the booth for a day with Gareth and was very impressed with the calibre of education and networking opportunities.
As Program Committee Chair, Neil Fawcett, CPM®, ARM® is organizing career fair participation opportunities for this spring at different high schools, to raise the awareness of real estate as a rewarding career path.
New Administrator
Tanya Chartrand has left her employment with Associations Plus, and we will now be served by Nicole L’Hirondelle, who has worked at CMHC in the past. Our original Administrator, Erika Holter is still with Associations Plus and will be providing continuity for training and the transition process. Welcome, Nicole!
NEXT MEETING - We look forward to seeing you at the AGM in April!
Chrystal Skead, CPM®, ARM®
