Bring a friend to parkrun
Do your friends wonder what that huge watch around your wrist is? Do you get bemused looks from family when you head out in lycra early in the morning? Have your kids pointed and laughed at your compression socks and head torch combo?

Now is the time to spread the running bug and let them know what it's all about: friends, fun, and cake!

On Saturday 1st November we challenge Hedgies to bring a friend to Netley Abbey parkrun... someone new to the event, or someone who hasn't been in a long time. Once you have dragged them kicking and screaming/ joyfully to parkrun, don't sprint off into the distance - the idea is to run it with them and support them along the way.
More info can be found here: Bring a friend to parkrun

Hedgies do Busy

Last weekend a group of Hedgies took their vests on a road trip to visit Bushy Park Parkrun. This was the first ever parkrun in the world, and regularly sees over 1000 runners turn up for their free, times Saturday run. The festivities started with an epic pizza feast on the Friday night, followed by an overnight stay in Kew, and then the main event on Saturday morning.

The one-lap course at Bushy, provided a flat, fast run, punctuated with views of the numerous deer the park is home to.

A great time was had by all and this will definitely become an annual favourite in the Hedgie social calendar! We even got a mention in the run report: http://www.parkrun.org.uk/bushy/news/
