On the first Monday of every month Beth Ingason will be running a slow chatty 5k leaving the Shamblehurst Barn at 6.30pm finishing for a drink in the Shamblehurst Barn pub for all runners.

Everyone is welcome on these runs however the primary aim is to support beginners, those returning from injury or those wanting to get into the swing of club running again. These sessions are open to non-hedgies too so invite your friends and family inc. kids and make a nice social evening of it!

Upcoming sessions are:

Monday 9th January (2nd Monday of the month due to the Christmas break)

Monday 6th February

Christmas jumper competition and drinks evening - Friday 9th December

Wear your best / silliest Christmas jumper and join us for a fun evening of drinking and music (Noel Gallagher tribute act) at the Shamblehurst Barn pub, Hedge End.  Meet upstairs from 7.30pm.

All previous years this has been a really fun event so it would be great to see you!

Awards evening

The committee are now beginning to think about our Club’s Award Evening (early next year). Due to our growing number of members, we are looking for ideas for a new venue and also opinions on what type of event people would like.

The event can only take place if a few members are able to help organise this event, please let us know if you are willing to get involved.
Training Update
We have seen some significant changes to the training sessions over the last few months and we will continue to see further enhancements moving into 2017.

We will see the start of a new session on Tuesdays from the Ageas starting at 7:45, which will be in addition to the 7:00 at the Ageas and 7:30 at Southampton track which already take place.

Checkout the training calendar to see what is on offer that fits in with your life and training goals.

We are looking to enhance the club events, including club championships over the coming weeks, look out for further details soon.

Your club needs you!

The club needs more run leaders, of all abilities, to ensure that we can offer members a variety of distances and paces on club nights.   The Leader in Running Fitness qualification is a one day, interactive, course with some classroom based instruction followed by practical sessions – it’s fun and friendly.    Run England have just put on a new course on the 5th February due to the demand, so if you can commit to leading a group once or twice a month drop us an email at

Feedback to the Committee

The club is 'supervised' by a group of like minded individuals who form the committee, but you all as members have an equal voice in providing suggestions for changing the way we do things, providing new ideas and giving your time for making things happen within the club.  The club is evolving all the time and we need as many people providing input as possible to keep the club as interesting and relevant for the membership.  If you have any ideas for what you would like the club to do or change please can you drop an email explaining to
