To BW parents:

As your student heads out for spring break and time with family and friends, we want to update you on BW’s planning and preparedness for the Coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak. Please know that the health and safety of all members of our campus community continues to be highest priority.

Currently, there are no suspected or confirmed cases at BW. We continue to closely monitor the situation, to consult with a range of health agencies and experts, and to do our due diligence to stay prepared.

For information sharing, we have set up a webpage on bw.edu that also includes links to the most trusted, up-to-date sources of information including the CDCOhio Department of Health (ODH) and Cuyahoga County Board of Health (CCBH).

With some global travel restrictions in place, BW Study Abroad has canceled one scheduled trip to China and continues to watch worldwide developments and advisories in each location where students are or planning to study. Our team is communicating with study abroad students and families directly, but you can access BW Study Abroad Coronavirus FAQs here.

Of course, whether your student is here on campus, at home or traveling, they should continue to heed the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) advice for the prevention of respiratory diseases with simple handwashing at the top of the list.

We hope your student has a restful spring break.

Trina Dobberstein
Vice-President for Student Affairs
