January Newsletter

We’re open for bookings for the 10th Annual Ennis Book Club Festival and tickets are already selling fast!
So, what are you going to treat yourself to? Our Friday night opening evening with Marian Keyes and Fiona Looney, preceeded by our debut Penguin NovelistsVanessa Ronan and Kit de Waal? Or maybe some sublime music with the Vanbrugh Quartet and poets Doireann Ní Ghríofa and Leanne O’Sullivan? In our hugely popular 10 Books You Should Read session, Diarmaid Ferriter and Catríona Crowe are bound to give plenty of food for thought in terms of 2016 reading. And, talking of food, why not join the versatile Happy Pear team for some enticing healthy-eating tips for the year ahead. In advance of Mother’s Day, three men talk about fathers in their writing, whereas, by contrast, Colm O’Regan will give a comic twist on the Irish Mammy!  And, topping the bill on Saturday evening, our Special Guests – poet Lemn Sissay and BBC correspondent Kate Adie. Round it off on Sunday with our symposium double-bill – A Nation and Not a Rabble with Diarmaid Ferriter and our provocatively entitled Do It Like a Woman! Seans dúinn guth nua a chloisint in Inis chomh maith nuair a léifidh Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh ón a cnuasaigh filíochta a chuireann saol na gcathrach in iúl dúinn – ocáid speisialta é seo chun Seachtain na Gaeilge a cheiliúradh.
As you can see, there’s loads to choose from and great value ticket packages on offer.  And, don’t forget our special accommodation offers available through our many local hotels.  Book early to avail of Festival deals and great hospitality.
So have a browse, round up the troops and we look forward to seeing you in Ennis from 04-06 March!
