Hello Parents and Teachers!

Youth Groups- Both Middle and High School Youth groups will be meeting at 5 pm.  Last week we got some volunteering time in and trimmed the rose bushes. This week we are going to work out some of the thing we want to see in a Family service and create the bulletin board advertisement.

Pumpkin Patch- The Pumpkin Patch is a multi- church fundraiser started by the Trinity Youth Program 17 years ago. Since then, we have had some good years and some not so good years, we have moved to Tariffville, and moved back to First Church, and in the last three years, we began splitting the responsibilities with members of First Church, Simsbury. In our area, many people love going to our Pumpkin Patch. They love the ambiance we create; they love that this is a non-profit endeavor and they love our family events. The Pumpkin Patch is more than a way to raise money! It is a way for us to meet our neighbors while helping to serve the Native American farmers who grow the pumpkins and live off the proceeds from patches like ours. We need your help, we need help setting up the pumpkin patch, we need help moving pumpkins, and we need help covering shifts. We need you and all your friends to come with drills, rakes, tools, wheelbarrows, and trucks. We need you to invite your friends to buy pumpkins from our patch. We need you.
Sign up to help cover a shift on the bulletin board in the Welcome Foyer. You can also use your smartphone’s camera or a QR reader to connect to the Signup Genius, which is the most up to date volunteer database. Or, if none of that works for you, come find me and I will get you a shift.

Making it work: Being a Faithful Christian in a Crazy, Busy World- during Camp ROAR, I had the opportunity to get a glimpse into how busy your lives are. Between work, kids, church, house, and any other responsibilities you face, your priorities and focus are constantly pulled in different directions. So, I asked myself, how are parents supposed to be faithful Christians when they are so stressed out, busy, and overwhelmed? We are going to be putting on a short class this fall which will take a holistic approach to how we care for ourselves so that we can be more fully present to our kids, spouses, and other responsibilities.
Question of the Week: When you think about reading the bible, what is the first thought that comes to mind? Is it favorable or does the idea of reading the bible fill you with dread?   Mandalavallee@gmail.com  (Obviously, no judgment; I have been to both places…)

See you Sunday!
