Harvest time and time of remembrance

How Do We Heal?

As I sit writing on 9112016, I can’t help but remember where I was and who with on 911001, such sadness and vivid memories and yet so much has healed since then.  What can we do to honor those who lost their lives, those who responded to the disaster, and those of us who are still here?

Two weeks after 911 I had been scheduled months earlier to teach energy and stress management to health professionals on the front lines.  I flew out of SFO headed to the East Coast and was a security risk for the many flights I had scheduled. For me, here on the West coast, 911 was a tragedy, on TV but outside of NY, Philadelphia, DC, it was a different story, a reality, as we all know.  And I was called on to do my deepest work teaching and providing support though I wasn't’ sure I even knew how. I needed to manage my own stress, fear and deep sadness.  How to teach about healing in that state?  I listened in my  meditations what could I possibly bring to these very stressed out folks.  So along with teaching the physiology of stress and energy, I also taught the less scientific softer practices of guided visualization and qigong, something I had not yet done in large professional groups.  And so as I write this, it’s a little surprising to me that this week (a coincidence?) I finally committed to offering private 1:1 sessions in healing practices.  To learn more about these sessions click here. I will do these via Skype or phone, in person when possible.  My cell book that covers both science, the sacred and practical strategies came out 12 years later, now in 5 languages.

Are the Shapes in Wine, a Wine Alphabet or Code?

I have made a commitment  to spend more time building my wine business to share the amazing inner world of the grape. Working with winemakers, being in the vineyard, photographing wines, and offering tasting presentations brings me great joy and together we get to build an exciting new body of knowledge.  Last month Dr. Elizabeth “Liz” Thach, MW, Distinguished Professor of Wine at Sonoma State University, invited me to do a video for her students on an overview of what I’ve learned so far regarding the wine images and the structure and taste of wine  Here’s a link to an unedited version of that video to give you a taste of the shapes in wine.

And to continue the conversation on cells, healing, come visit me on  Facebook and Twitter, two places I hangout to explore ideas and the day, and of course fine wine.  BTW I am looking to photograph Romanée-Conti especially Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-Conti Grand Cru, Côte de Nuits and your exceptional wines.  How can I provide you with a unique gift of your wine? I have a Coravin system so if you are in the Bay area, consider an adventure into the wine before you open it.  Wouldn’t you love to have a large print of it for your home, wine cellar, a memento long after the bottle is empty? Or imagine sharing the image as you share that precious bottle of wine.
This is a photomicrographic portrait of Lafite Rothschild

And so my dear friends, I invite you to take some moments to treasure the people you love, cherish the work that is your calling and be ever grateful for your life.  Take some time to harvest yourself.

With love,

Sondra
