It's almost Christmas and you might be winding things down in the office, how about having some fun with colleages and raising some money? How about #FestiveFiver or #Unselfie, both are fun ways of nominating Burdekin for some additional funds this Christmas but they're also easy and hassle free to pull off - for details visit our website please.

It is important that as we do celebrate and spend at this time of year to remember that 1.3 million Australian households are in housing need. Many households will really struggle this year, many people don't have support or family and would benefit from a smile or an offer of help from a neighbour - let's all be that neighbour!

Please also remember our Christmas campaign - #WeCanDoBetter #BecauseTheyDeserveBetter. It is all about supporting young people past the age of 18 which is the current age that the government realeases them from care and into a forced life of independence.

What do we need? An additional $150-$300 per week per young person exiting care to ensure a smooth transition into independent living. How can you help? In any way - no amount is too small - it's Christmas and we would like to give our young people a small gift - we think they deserve it - do you? Donate today.

Merry Christmas from everyone at Burdekin xx
