Dear <<First Name>>,

Our Christmas appeal for 2016 aims to give our young people the chance to reach their full potential beyond having a house to live in. Providing a stable home environment and support is our priority. We designed a new learning and development format entitled Camp Burdekin which will enable learning through experience in an informal setting.

We all know that seeing is believing and experiencing something is much superior to just hearing or reading about it. Things we experience ourselves seem to stick with us and form our personality. It also allows our staff to spend more quality time with the young people and strengthens their relationships.

This is why we have conceived Camp Burdekin.
Over the Christmas period and into early 2017 we aim to raise up to $20,000 - sufficient to take two groups of our young people to a camp.

By getting out and experiencing something new our young people will have the opportunity to feel grounded and connected. During the camps we will facilitate informal counselling sessions and planned activities. Young people will have plenty of opportunity to open up and discuss any issues they are facing.

We hope you will get behind this campaign. Your donation – big or small will help make a genuine difference to these young people, enabling them to build the future they deserve.

We also wish to thank you for your support throughout 2016. It has been a year of many challenges, successes and opportunities for both, our young people and the organisation.  We transitioned from our long-term Executive Officer to new leadership, took the opportunity to adapt our organisational structure to the requirements of our young people and funders and welcomed a few new staff members.

Many of you are fervent supporters who are passionate about creating opportunities for our young people and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for that.

Our staff have worked tirelessly to meet all the demands placed on them and with great vitality, at times long hours and beyond the call of duty.

And finally our young people who are at the heart of The Burdekin Association, they overcome struggles and come through shining brightly and accomplishled - we have a lot of respect and love for them.
Our 3rd Annual Charity Golf Day will be held on Tuesday 2nd of May 2017 and we have our new sponsorship proposal and invitation ready on our website or contact Megan for any queries or requests.
