Hey <<First Name>>, have you heard that #HomeSweet 2019 is back? After the phenomenal success of the 2017 event, the organisers, Link Housing, have generously organised another sleepout. This time supporting:

  • The Burdekin Association – youth homelessness,
  • Women’s Community Shelters – women’s homelessness and domestic violence,
  • Link Housing tenant scholarship program – education and training opportunities for those in need.

#HomeSweet2017 raised a whopping $120,000 and we are hoping to at least reach this figure again, if not more! And that's where you come in. We are asking for your support – either as a 'sleepee' at the event, in which case please register today over here. or as a sponsor of a 'sleepee' back up a team member.  And, don't forget to forward this message to a friend, maybe they would like to be involved?

WHY?

Homelessness is on the rise, issues surrounding homelessness are on the rise and we all have a responsibility to try to fix it. The 2017 event raised awareness, funds and the community spirit. Christian Wilkins was our MC, the amazing Andrew Reid (Reidy) from Bondi Lifeguards, Brad Hazzard MP and James Griffen MP were in attendance - to name a few. Sleeping over means you are part of the conversation and part of the solution, sleeping over with friends, family or colleagues creates 'forever-memories'.
 
If you would like to come on board as a corporate sponsor we would be thrilled and you will be in excellent company!  So far Link Housing have secured: Aqualand, Pitcher Partners, Community Sector Banking, Jones Lang LeSalle, Grosvenor Performance Group, AON Insurance, and The Trio Property Group and have already raised an impressive $62,238!

But that’s only half way there, we need more corporate sponsors: WE NEED YOU or maybe the business you work for? why not ask your bosses if they wish to come on board? The benefits for corporate sponsors include media coverage including through social media before, during and after the event, acknowledgement by the organisers and beneficiares in our newsletters and, of course, special thanks on the night!  You will gain exposure as an organisation who believes in social responsibility, whose culture is aligned with the community and believes in the importance of solving the Australian homeless crisis.

Seaforth Arts Festival: Each year we are lucky beneficiaries of the Seaforth art exhibition and sale, this year with an exciting new component where young people can submit their own art!

Over three days there is an opening night, gala dinner, music and entertainment, plus you will be supporting local artists and young people experiencing homelessness - get your tickets now!
Peninsula Pals Melbourne Cup:  Join us for Melbourne Cup Day organised by Peninsula Pals and hosted by Kerryn Baird. The event will take place at the Novotel Manly and include a 3 course dinner, competitions and prizes for the benefit  of four amazing charities - Burdekin, Sunnyfield, BeCentre and Lighthouse.

New Partnership: We are thrilled to announce our new community partnership with The Manly Warringah Waratahs.
