CULTURES WITHIN CAPITALISM: LUIS MOJICA

Luis Mojica is the founder of Holistic Life Navigation. Unlike the previous episodes, Luis is neither a graduate of the Business Growth Program nor a private client. Luis is my former therapist and a dear colleague. In this episode, we talk about his journey to Somatic Therapy, what couples therapy can teach you about leadership, non-charged capitalism, and changing how you relate to your business and your employees. I share a bit about my own experience with this work (there are tears) and how it changed how I see what's most meaningful in relating to others and why ruptures in relationships are so valuable. And as a special treat, Luis plays the Cultures [w/n] Capitalism theme song on his piano. 🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹

In closing, yesterday, Maria Popova celebrated 16 years of the Marginalian and shared this quote that I thought perfectly summed up part of our conversation:

The richest relationships are lifeboats, but they are also submarines that descend to the darkest and most disquieting places, to the unfathomed trenches of the soul where our deepest shames and foibles and vulnerabilities live, where we are less than we would like to be. Forgiveness is the alchemy by which the shame transforms into the honor and privilege of being invited into another’s darkness and having them witness your own with the undimmed light of love, of sympathy, of nonjudgmental understanding. Forgiveness is the engine of buoyancy that keeps the submarine rising again and again toward the light, so that it may become a lifeboat once more.
