Your go-to digital asthma handbook
Last month we launched the Australian Asthma Handbook Version 2. If you haven't familiarised yourself with the update or if you'd like to refresh your knowledge of asthma diagnosis and management, now is the time. We made crucial updates to paediatric, severe and acute asthma sections, and expanded advice on asthma prevention.

Review of Medicare Asthma Service Incentive Payment delayed
The Department of Health has advised that implementation of the Practice Incentive Program Quality Improvement Incentive (PIP QI Incentive), originally scheduled for 2016, is delayed until 1 August 2019. This is due to the department requiring additional time to refine the incentive, consult stakeholders and plan implementation. The delay will also give general practices time to prepare, which means that asthma cycle of care item numbers are still able to be claimed by general practices.
