ISACA WINCHESTER MONTHLY MEETING with ACL: GDPR: How to establish a strong, defensible position

Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Speaker: ACL Services Limited - Worldwide leading providers of Enterprise Governance, Risk Management, Compliance, Data Automation and Analytics tooling and solutions.
Description: With the May deadline fast approaching the debate around GDPR has changed from one of understanding the new regulatory obligations towards creating a program that will first achieve and then maintain compliance. A defensible GDPR position requires proving to regulators that the material policies, controls and systems are in place and continually evaluated; a sustainable program should achieve this with the minimum disruption to business activities.

ISACA Winchester May Chapter meeting - Hacking Maritime Blockchains, and other Security Shenanigans!

Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM

Description: Hacking Maritime Blockchains, and other Security Shenanigans!

Ken Munro is Partner and Founder of Pen Test Partners LLP, a firm of experienced penetration testers, otherwise known as ethical hackers. He regularly blogs on everything from hacking cars, the Internet of Things, and maritime security. He also writes for various newspapers and industry magazines in an effort to get beyond the unhelpful scaremongering put about by many security vendors. Ken has become a voice for reform and legislative change in the largely unregulated IoT, briefing UK and US government departments as well as being involved with various EU consumer councils. Ken will present a number of topical and interesting areas of security including hacking a maritime blockchain, reverse engineering a Tesla, and an ATM, and who knows what else he may have in store for us. This has all the makings of a thoroughly enjoyable and educational evening.

ISACA Winchester Training Event - Implementing NIST Cybersecurity Framework Using COBIT 5

Monday, May 21, 2018 9:00 AM until Tuesday, May 22, 2018 5:00 PM

ISACA Winchester are please to offer another subsided training event. Tickets start from just £550* for ISACA Members including course materials, refreshments and final exam fees over the two days.
NIST Cyber-security Framework:  In 2013, US President Obama issued Executive Order (EO) 13636, Improving Critical Infrastructure Cyber-security, which called for the development of a voluntary risk-based cyber-security framework that is "prioritised, flexible, repeatable, performance-based, and cost-effective." The Cyber-security Framework (CSF) was developed through an international partnership of small and large organisations, including owners and operators of the nation's critical infrastructure, with leadership by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

ISACA participated in the CSF's development and helped embed key principles from the COBIT framework into the industry-led effort. As part of the knowledge, tools and guidance provided through our Cyber-security Nexus (CSX)™ program, ISACA has developed a guide and course: Implementing NIST Cyber-security Framework Using COBIT 5. This new course is focused on the Cyber-security Framework (CSF), its goals, the implementation steps and the ability to apply this information. The course and exam are for individuals who have a basic understanding of both COBIT 5 and security concepts, and who are involved in improving the cyber-security program for their enterprises.
