Teaching the World
One Student at a Time
I should have noticed during the enrollment process, but somehow it escaped me until I peeked in on our 2nd/3rd grade history class the first day of school. They were learning how to find different countries on the map. "Let's find Ghana, where [student's name] lived," the teacher said. A moment later, she continued, "Okay, let's now find South Korea, where [student's name] is from." Moments later, the students were finding Ethiopia. For the first time, I realized that we had five countries represented in the class of nine children.
One of the things I love most about Community Christian Academy is the ethnic and economic diversity that the Lord has brought to the school. Often, I hear Christians who have not experienced a school like CCA express concern that their children may grow up in a "bubble" and not be prepared to interact in a diverserve community as adults if they place them in a Christian school. While CCA does promote a healthy spiritual as well as academic environment, we welcome the world every day that our door is open. We encourage any parent interested in knowing more about CCA to give us a call at 434-326-1145.
