2017-18 School-Year Update
This year has brought great changes for Community Christian Academy. We experienced more than 40% growth, which brought new students, new programs, and new teachers. We added middle-school grades 6 and 7 (with 8th to follow next year), which added a whole new componant to our expanding school.
This year has been full already with students doing history and habitat projects; taking field trips to the Science Museum of Virginia to study astronomy, Pamplin Park to study the Civil War, and the Richmond Zoo to study animals; and experimenting with robots and chemicals; and debating historical racism, immigration, and the Lee statue in Charlottesville. We've done fractions and word problems, implemented writing strategies with Andrew Pudewa from Institute for Excellence in Writing, learned Christmas songs in other languages, played tennis and soccer, built models and painted pictures, read classic literature, worshipped Jesus and studied God's plan for reconciliation, and we are only finished with the first quarter of school!
