Rose Festival Ambassadors
The Rose Festival Black Bottle Gala Dinner was held on Renmark's Premier location 'the Renmark Riverfront' on Saturday 22 October. Although the temperature was slightly on the chilly side it did not deter the 200+ people who attended the spectacular event to see not just one but two Ambassadors take the 2016/17 title! In  the picture above Connor Bakaj is on the left, Stephanie Coughlin (Rose Queen of 2015) in middle and Celeste Newbery on the right.

Celeste Newbery, who is a journalist at the Murray Pioneer, moved to the Riverland only nine months ago but has fallen in love with the Riverland and has embraced the lifestyle here. She is an active community member who attends numerous events throughout the Riverland with the many friends she has made here. She had quite the entourage with her on Saturday night and will make a fabulous Ambassador.

Connor Bakaj, who is in his final year at Renmark High School, was the Festivals youngest entrant and the only male in the competition! Connor was also awarded Renmark Lion's Youth of the Year for 2016 and plans to move to Adelaide to begin his University Degree in Engineering in 2017. Connor also had a big entourage supporting him and is looking forward to promoting the Festival in Adelaide whilst also returning to support local youth initiatives.
Celeste and Connor both attended all the Ambassador Events, promoted and supported the events by bringing people along, sold many raffle ticket books and interviewed well with the Committee. They both make outstanding ambassadors for the Festival and Council looks forward to supporting them in the coming year.
Council would also like to commend Casey Cocks from Pure Skin and Beauty and Alex Lokan from Magic 93.1 for their excellent promotion of the Festival and the Region and their commitment to the community.

Renmark Paringa Council’s next FREE Childhood Immunisation Clinic will be on Wednesday 16 November at the Civic and Community Centre on Eighteenth Street, Renmark, between 1pm-3:15pm. To book your child in, please call the Council Office on 8580 3000. The dates for all upcoming clinics can be found on Council’s website.

The Pageant has changed its format for 2016 with it being held on December 10 (the second Saturday in December) and commencing at 2pm!

The Pageant Committee felt that the early start would promote local businesses and encourage community members to do their shopping on Pageant day thus supporting 'Local'. The event this year is spread out over 8 hours and caters for the whole family.
The Committee has advised that the pageant will be held on the first weekend of December 2017.

For more information of activities which the whole family can enjoy on the day visit the Renmark Christmas Pageant Facebook Page.
